Details released on Sub Pop shoe, like it’s yellow

Hipsters everywhere will not buy vinyl for a month to save up for this shoe, right?
A lot of things can be done to celebrate two decades of success at a music label. Festivals are thrown, cool deals are resurrected, and corporate shoe companies create ridiculously ugly high tops in your honor.
Wait, shoes?
Yeah, “fucking shoes.”
That all according to a news release sent out by Sub Pop representative Alissa Gallivan. Well, Sub Pop never actually calls the shoes ugly. They consider it to be paying tribute to their “Singles Club,” the previously mentioned deal.

Marcus Lalario came to Sub Pop with an exciting proposition, according to the news release. Lalario had friends and Nike who dug on the label, and in a few hours, the Sub Pop shoe concept was born.
Sub Pop is offering a deal in which you can pay $90, which is $50 cheaper than other retailers but still $60 more than most people would pay for them. Still, hipsters everywhere will not buy vinyl for a month just to save up for the overpriced footwear. They have been doing it for years with Chuck Taylors, which are probably half as comfortable. At least the Sub Pop shoes are “collectible,” whatever that means.
Shoe highlights, according to news release:
Only 300 pairs are available for the special deal.
The shoes were created incorporating design elements from the Sub Pop Singles Club. They are primarily yellow and black, sporting the signature Single’s Club squiggly gray line and black star. The shoes have their own catalogue number (SP780) which is displayed on the back of the heel. The Singles Club logo (including July 2009- Limited Edition) graces the inside of the tongue while the Sub Pop logo can be found on the front as well as on the insole of the high top sneaker.
Sizes: US Men Size 6 through 13, but the shoes are said to be running half a size small. So buy big.
